fiberpok : a short introduction of artist please

cubepixels :i am ray rubio in real name a.k.a. cubepixel on the net, 23. webdesign instructor and loves to draw and paint.

fiberpok : let's dissect the artist more shall we, what's your preferred style, the tools you use and your view on the local and global graphics scene.

cubepixels :generally, i prefer undetailed ones. heavy manipulations is what makes me feel like a master of pixels. i normally start with 3D studio max and Poser for my design....

cubepixels :then later on

cubepixels :brought to photoshop for final rendering

cubepixels :heavy layer manipulations will be done to the extent of losing my RAM's brain.

cubepixels :Local and international digital artists doesn't made any variance i think,

fiberpok :why?

cubepixels :we all play the same game, the same canvas, same idea that dominate the internet's design community. in fact, many local artists are recognized worldwide for a number of reasons and uniqueness of their design, one of those is www.halfproject.com

fiberpok :speaking of recognition, you've been famous for the coin design that you made for the 9-11 coin design
contest sponsored by Corel

fiberpok : :)

cubepixels : :)

cubepixels :heheh

cubepixels :that was real great.

fiberpok : on the next question, you said earlier that you like to draw and paint, which medium do you prefer when making traditional ones

cubepixels :before i went into digital designs, i am delving myself into 'real' canvas using oil and paintbrushes.

during my high school years, i won the very first national award of YMCA's logo making contest held in baguio. oftentimes, i am using pastel (craypas) elements for the posters i made in some of my projects.

fiberpok : you really are famous

fiberpok : ;)

cubepixels :hahhaaha

cubepixels :lol

fiberpok :i notice your works venture more on abstraction

fiberpok :why?

cubepixels :uhmnn... intriguing works of mine, [lol] it made sense to me in general. abstract designs are really hitting my head all the time, even when i was in high school, i never do detailed creations execept for the times of necessity. i can see my passion of art in abstract creations, thus making me feel satisfied after a couple of hours or say days of work in every project.

fiberpok :speaking of your works

fiberpok :you have them displayed at cubepixels.com

fiberpok :what can you say about your online gallery

fiberpok :as well as the whole site itself

cubepixels :with new sections called 'rubikcubes' and 'renderfarm'

fiberpok :any word of advice to aspiring digital artists

fiberpok :??

cubepixels :inspire yourself through collaboration with other designers, learn to play different platforms of graphics applications and draw down your wildest creations from your mind.

fiberpok :and who's the baddest designer of them all?

cubepixels :hehehehe... talk to yourself buddy. i can see that title from you.

fiberpok :lol

fiberpok :come'on

cubepixels :lol

fiberpok :forget that question

cubepixels :hahahha

fiberpok :the best president the philippines ever had?

cubepixels :i should say it's Cory Aquino.

cubepixels :**dont ask for more why**

cubepixels :hahha

fiberpok :hahaha

fiberpok :i think that wraps up our interview

fiberpok :thanks buddy!
